Harold Morgenstern SVP, Head of National Advertising Sales Pluto TV
Harold Morgenstern serves as the Senior Vice President, national advertising sales for Pluto TV. Based in New York, Morgenstern oversees all of the national advertising sales teams across the country including defining the advertising strategies and partnership opportunities across the entire Pluto TV OTT platform. Morgenstern was instrumental in building Pluto TV sales organization from scratch including opening sales offices in New York, Chicago and Los Angeles. Under his leadership, his team accounted for tremendous revenue success for Pluto TV, which contributed to the successful acquisition of Pluto TV by Viacom in the first quarter of 2019.
Prior to joining Pluto TV, Morgenstern served as senior vice president, Head of Digital Media Sales and Multi-Platform TV Advertising for Discovery Communications. Over his fourteen-year tenure at Discovery, Morgenstern led the entire digital media sales effort in addition to overseeing numerous linear TV sales teams across Discovery Channel, Animal Planet, Investigation Discovery, Velocity and Destination America. His team accounted for developing many top industry partnerships including being part of the team awarded an Interactive Emmy from the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences for Multiplatform storytelling for Skywire Live with Nik Wallenda.
In addition to Morgenstern bringing incredible media experience to Pluto TV he also served as the group vice president of national advertising sales at IWON.com & Excite.com which quickly became the fourth largest internet portal in the U.S., responsible for opening regional sales offices in New York, Detroit, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Dallas and Seattle.
Morgenstern also held positions at ESPN, CBS and J. Walter Thompson.
Morgenstern earned his bachelor’s degree in Communications at the University of Buffalo and is currently in the process of earning his Master’s degree in Integrated Marketing Communications at Northwestern University, Medill School of Journalism. Harold currently resides in Long Island, NY with his wife and two sons.
